Mao Dun’s Former Home

Mao Dun’s former home (in simplified Chinese 茅盾故居) is located at the South Street Dongcheng District’s traffic intersection. There is a temple after the round on the 13th alley. After 1972, Mao Dun chose to live in this place. In March 27, 1985 the former residence was officially opened to public after Mao Dun’s death.Mao Dun Literary Award.” which is still running nowadays and it is one of the dream awards of Chinese writers. in the northern room there was Mao Dun and his introduction of the road of literature. East wing of this home was used to display the picture of Mr. Mao Dun at the founding of New China for the construction of cultural homeland. There are also pictures showing how he made unremitting efforts for world peace. Exhibits include the appointment or his different jobs, some letters he wrote, pen he used, tape recorders, etc, in sealed boxes. Mr. Mao Dun’s former home had a backyard which is the study and bedroom, where the shelves are full of books or different kinds like ancient Chinese novels, foreign novels, record books, etc. Together with his own works these books have been concentrated into a “library of Mao Dun.”

Prince Gong House

Prince Gong House (in simplified Chinese 恭王府) is located at the former Hercynian Street, Xicheng District. It is currently the largest existing palace, and the protection of it is the best ones in China nowadays. Shen was convicted for corruption and Jiaqing turned the House into the official part of the Emperor to give his younger brother, Prince Qing Xi Yong P, a Qing Palace. After the Qing Xianfeng Wangfu recovery, thanks to his younger brother, Yi Yi, the House became the Prince Gong House. The structures of this garden are all very unique and beautiful. is wide and there is the front gate and among the three doors, there is a silver door in an existing hall in the main hall which has been destroyed. The existing palace is called the Ka Lok Tong. East into the courtyard formed by the three doors, there is Prince Gong Yi’s space which is used for daily living. West Jeongbang Jin Zhai’s time, the building is large, with gallery-week access point, and a remarkable style. After three roads in the courtyard, it was surrounded by 160 meters from east to west. The east of it has a lot of fog which looks like looking at the buildings there as well as some buildings to the west of Po.

Sun Yat-sen’s Residence

Sun Yat-sen’s Residence (in simplified Chinese 孙中山行宫) is located in 23 Zhang Road. In the Ming dynasty it was actually the home of the emperor Chongzhen’s wife, called Spring Garden. This land was later been used by the late Qing Dynasty as a park. During early years of the Republic it was the chief diplomatic residential Wellington Koo.

Sun Yat-sen, after discussing with his family in 1924, decided to live in this place. He also used this place as an office for handling the affairs of the state. On March 12, 1925, Sun Yat-sen died in the bedroom in this residence, three days after the transfer of Hope Temple in Xiangshan. Here it is one of the key units to be protected in Beijing.

South Park

South Park (in simplified Chinese南馆公园) is located within Dongzhimen the Museum. During the Ming Dynasty the land of this park was originally a Tongchang. In 1956, under the ratification of the Urban Planning Bureau for the green space, this place was used to build a park and according to local residents, this park is commonly known as Museum Park.

The South Park’s northern park and the Russian Embassy are in relation to the West and the famous temple which is adjacent to Qualcomm Education. East and North phases of the South Park are the sheep pipe alley. The South Park has an area of 2.62 hectares, and it was founded in 1956. On 1 October, 1992 the official opening took place and what the park offer is a beautiful environment, pleasant scenery of the modern garden.

Beijing Zoo

Beijing Zoo (in simplified Chinese 北京北京动物园) is located at Xizhimen Street’s northbound, which is north of the long river. The Beijing zoo is China’s largest zoo, and the garden is also integrated with the field of landscape scenery.

Park Villa, Church, kiosks, trees and animals are intertwined into the court homes, which has an area of 865,000 square meters. The land was previously owned by the royal family of the Ming Dynasty Manor, and in the early Qing Dynasty the royal family used it as a private park called Qiu. A testing ground at the end of the Qing Dynasty replaced the land for farming, raising a number of the royal family for viewing the animals, of which about 200 were imported from Germany. This place was commonly known as “ten thousand animal park.”

Beijing Tiananmen Square

Beijing Tiananmen Square (in simplified Chinese 北京天安门广场) is located in the center of Beijing. It is the world’s largest square, having an area of 500,000 square meters.

From here, you can see the history of New China Architecture because it was born even earlier than the Republic of China for several hours. On September 30, 1949, the eve of the founding ceremony, all the CPPCC National Committee members were led by Mao Zedong to Tiananmen Square, where the People’s Heroes Monument laid the first cornerstone.

According to traditional Chinese thought, monuments and buildings should be blocked south, but Zhou Enlai told the project architect, suggesting that the possibility for the monument in Tiananmen Square to be Changan-oriented because the vast majority of people are entering from the north side of the Square. Architects accepted his proposal and made the change.
